In 1993 the DÖW began the microfilming and the reconstruction of contents in proceedings of the people’s court in Vienna (1945 - 1955) and the Viennese State Court for Criminal Law (1955 - 1975). The majority of these filmed court files focus a picture of the court proceedings which are very important historical sources for Holocaust research.
This work is currently being continued by the Austrian Research Agency for Post-War Justice (which was formed with the assistance of the DÖW and which plays an active role in the work of the DÖW and the Austrian State Archives). Since 1999 the Israeli memorial, Yad Vashem, has also played a great role in this research and investigation
