Austrian Physicians and National Socialism
Historical Facts, Post-War Legacy, and Implications for Today
DÖW-Kooperation: Symposium am 16. April 2015
Despite the prominent role played by medicine and medical doctors during National Socialism, 70 years after the end of the war many open questions persist.
This symposium brings together new research on this important chapter of history. We consider the intense nazification of Austrian medicine, anatomical and wartime medical research, and the persecution of Jewish physicians.
Finally, representatives of Austrian medical organizations reflect on the significance of the Nazi past and how to deal with it.
